It sits at the gable peak, connecting rafters and spreaders while also accepting a vertical center support leg directly beneath the crown — a combination that's specific to gable-end construction and not interchangeable with a standard 4-way crown.

Why This Gable Crown Matters
The gable peak carries and redistributes load across the entire end wall, and on wider tents that peak needs the extra vertical protrusion for a center support leg to keep the gable from flexing under wind or fabric tension. Using a standard crown in place of this gable-specific fitting leaves that center leg connection unsupported, which is a common cause of gable-end sag on larger tents.

Installation Notes from Our Install Crews
Install the center support leg into the vertical protrusion before loading the horizontal connections — it's much easier to get the leg seated square while the crown is still light and easy to maneuver. Connect rafters and spreaders symmetrically from there so the gable peak stays centered as the frame comes together.
